Biography of Federica
I was born in an island called Sardinia (Italy), in 1974. During my childhood and adolescence I studied classic ballet and contemporary dance, and experimented with lot of kind of ethnic dances. Dance, and movement in general, has always been my favourite way to express my emotions and to communicate with the others. I was very shy, I couldn’t express myself through the words. In change, when I started dancing I used to feel free and safe.
My dancing lessons represented the best moment in my daily routine, and I absolutely loved all my dance teachers, even if some of them were a little bit rude or too strict with me. I think I could see behind the appearance, maybe I was able to read their movement and decode them automatically.
So, when I grew up, I kept on dancing, being myself a dance teacher. After my university degrees in Modern Literature and Psychology, I got a master in “Dance-movement-therapy” at UB (Universidad de Barcelona) and a `post grade in “Conflict negotiation” at Bureau Veritas (Barcelona).
Now I work in Peace Education and Conflict Mediation using dance-therapy techniques and pedagogic games.
